My friend and I are trying to think of not your average vacation ideas. Frankly, I am not a very traveled individual, whereas he has traveled throughout much of the US and some of the UK. Basically we are looking for a little adventure to share together. He brought up possibly NY, Boston or a train vacation and has asked me to bring some ideas to the table. I am pretty much up for any suggestions, but to maybe help steer this in the right direction let me add that we are both outdoorsy geeks (enjoy comic books and World of Warcraft, but he golfs and I hike/mountain bike). Not too worried about the price, I don’t really have any specific destinations in mind and if it has romantic tones to it then great, if not…then I am sure we will be happy just exploring together.
You said you like biking. So wherever you end up going, be sure to rent a couple bikes. Biking gives you a much more intimate look at an area. And you could do a Google search to investigate bike paths and trails. In some areas they go for miles and miles. In fact, perhaps finding a great bike path could be your starting place. Find a great Bike path, then find one near golf courses and other attractions.
