x+y=75 …because it says you have 75 shoes sold in total.
$82x+$95y= $6241 … because the number of venus shoes multiplied by the price combined with the number of extreme shoes multplied by price is a total of $6241.
Use algebra to change x+y= 75 into y=75-x … now you can sub in 75-x nto the other equation and you are left with no y vraiables so you can just solve for x.
82x+95y=6241
82x+95(75-x)= 6241
82x+ 7125 – 95x=6241 .. now isolate the x variable
7125-6241= 95x- 82x
884= 13x
x= 68
since x represents the number of venus shoes sold you now know that you have sold 68 venus shoes. Now chose one of your original equatons to sub in the x value so you may get the y.
x+y= 75 bceomes
68+y=75
y=75-68
